Success Is The Sum Of Small Efforts,
Repeated Day In And Day Out

Dear Friend,

A New Year is a matter of rejoicing, making new resolutions and working towards realising them. We are sure that the year 2018 crowns you with success in your desired academic field. Every New Year we make new resolutions. As one advances into the New Year, we see that only a few exceptional human beings stick to the resolutions that they have made.

Studies have shown that people who make resolutions are ten times more likely to attain their goals than people who do not explicitly make resolutions. Success is a habit. It is the culmination of small efforts repeated daily. Here are some strategies to help you make the changes you want in the year ahead. We are confident that you will apply them so that 2018 will truly be the best year of your life.

Know Your Why. For a resolution to stick, it has to be aligned with your core values. We all want to top the entrance exam, get admission into the prestigious institute, become rich, but your resolutions have to go beyond superficial desires and connect with what truly matters most to you. In other words, you have to “Know your why” and feel truly passionate about the goals you set for yourself. Connect your resolutions to those things that give you a deeper sense of purpose and align with your core values. When your resolutions connect to a deeper sense of purpose, it compels you not to think small or play safe, but to dig deep and stay the course when the going gets tough—no matter how many hurdles.

Be Specific. The more specific resolutions that you make, the more likely you will be able to succeed. Describe your goals and resolutions in ways that allow you to track your progress and measure your success. For instance, you should clearly spell out how many mock question papers you will attempt in a week.

Don’t Just Think It, Ink It!   Don’t just write down the specific goal, write down how you will feel when you have accomplished it.  When you have finished penning your desires, jot down on paper the words that inspire you most about your goal and put them around your study table to remind you of why you are committed to doing what it takes to transform your goal into reality.

Narrow Your Efforts. Set yourself up for success with one goal at one time. Make yearly targets and break them down into monthly, weekly and finally daily targets.  If your goal is to clear a prestigious exam, break it down into what you can study in a month, week and finally in a day. Celebrate the accomplishment of your target every day.

Celebrate Your Success. Each time you reach a milestone, acknowledge your accomplishments in a positive way. Celebrating your success will keep you focussed on the larger goal.

As always, we pledge our whole-hearted support as you journey on the path to realizing your chosen career goals. We honour IAS toppers with CSR Gold Medals and publish their detailed interviews to guide you on your path to success. We, at the Competition Success Review group, urge you to study their secrets of success and emulate them in your endeavours. We have inspired and guided lakhs of students during the last 54 years of our existence and will continue doing so in the future. Working tirelessly for your success.
