“What is the use of running when we are not on the right road”—is an oft-quoted line. This teaches that our efforts should be well directed and we should know our real goal. That is why wisdom has been considered necessary for your success. Knowledge is great but its essence lies in using it wisely at the right moment. The acquisition of knowledge is possible only when you are ready to admit that what you know is still not the ultimate and you need to update your knowledge from time to time in order to put it to good use in the area that you have chosen as your career. This feeling will never give birth to any sense of dissatisfaction and you will never end up as an individual without zeal. Your humility will always keep you bound to your purpose and prevent you from giving up your efforts.
Never forget that the beginning is the most important part of a work. You should be careful enough to choose a career for yourself at the very beginning. By doing so, you can save a lot of time and energy and avoid further confusion related to the progression in your chosen career. Well-directed efforts always bring success if they are not given up midway. Never let yourself get complacent. Complacency is the greatest roadblock which holds you back when you should think of other ways to add to your success. And success should fill you with confidence and determination, not with complacency. Complacency puts an end to enthusiasm and results in laziness which is opposed to action. It is by acts not by ideas that people live.
In order to be successful, you should be positive in your approach when you decide on a career which matches your interest and capability. You ought to rely on your own attributes and avoid thinking that luck has any role to play in the fulfilment of your dreams. It is only your care and diligence which will bring luck. All that you are supposed to do is to embark on your journey to the attainment of your goal with the right means. In Mahatma Gandhi’s words—“Take care of the means and the end will take care of itself.”
For the ambitious youth like you, the end implies the attainment of success in the examination that opens a door to the chosen area and the means stands for the study materials that one chooses for the preparation. The choice of right kind of reading materials is more important than reading the same thing again and again and feeling at sea about the aspects of a subject or topic important from the examination point of view. Unplanned reading leads to confusion and no room is left to cover other important topics that are part of the syllabus of the examination. Success is always the result of continuous preparation, dedication and diligence. All these are possible after you concentrate on your goal. To have concentration, you have to go through the question papers of the previous years and solve all the questions and similar questions again and again. By doing so, you can increase your chances of doing well in the examination of your choice.
Remember that the most important thing is that you always see your goal in front of you. It keeps you enthusiastic and focussed. The best strategy is to set a goal, break it into manageable daily tasks and relentlessly follow through. This method leads to success in an uninterrupted manner filling you with fresh enthusiasm along the way because you feel closer to your goal.
Concentration is the secret of strength and remember “Nine-tenths of wisdom consists in being wise in time.”
Wishing you would use your wisdom to achieve success,
