Flying Officer Avani Chaturvedi created history when she became the first Indian woman pilot of the Indian Air Force to complete a solo flight in a MiG-21 Bison fighter aircraft on February 19, 2018. She completed the half-an-hour long solo flight in the Russian-origin jet in the skies over Jamnagar Air Base in Gujarat by breaking yet another glass ceiling and stamped her name in golden letters in one more area of women\u2019s emancipation.
