She is a resident of\nDelhi. Ms. Malik has achieved the rare distinction of clearing and even topping\nthe arduous Civil Services Examination in her first attempt. She credits \u201cpersistent\nhard work and perseverance towards my goal\u201d as the secret of her success in\nCSE. In her view, one year of preparation along with self-study is the optimum\ntime to prepare for the CSE.&nbsp; Ms. Malik\ncredits her parents, especially her mother for motivating her through her\njourney of Civil Services. She has completed B.Tech from Bharti Vidyapeeth\u2019s\nCollege of Engineering and schooling from Air Force Bal Bharti School. Scoring\n100% marks in Social Studies in school motivated Ms. Malik to go for a career in\nthe Civil Services. To prepare for the CSE, she did self-study and read\nmaterial from General Knowledge Today and Competition Success Review. \u201cWork\nhard and stop not until your goal is reached. It is the best source for Hindi medium. If so, name them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A.\n<\/strong>I did self study and read material from <em>General\nKnowledge Today<\/em> and <em>Competition Success Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q.\nWhat do you think is a better way of preparation between selective intensive\nstudy and wide extensive study?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A.\n<\/strong>Selective intensive study for GS. Extensive\nstudy for optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q.\nHave you been studying alone or in a group ? If you were studying in a group,\nhave your other friends also succeeded ? If so, name them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A.\n<\/strong>No. I studied alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q.\nIs this pattern of the examination appropriate for selection? Would you\nrecommend any other improvement?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A.\n<\/strong>Yes it is appropriate but more transparency is\nneeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q.\nDo you feel that there should be no restriction on the number of attempts ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A.\n<\/strong>There should be a restriction of 4 to 6\nattempts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q.\nWe have been awarding CSR Gold Medal to top Fifty Rank Holders of CSE who have\nbeen our readers.
